Milen Till combines object art, ready-made art, and conceptualism in his works. He reinterprets everyday objects or iconic elements of famous artists, giving them new meanings or reducing them to absurdity. In this way, he sharpens our view of the everyday and questions our ideas about the value and essence of art.
The limited X-Mas-Edition was created as part of his solo exhibition Wiener Aktivismus (Viennese Activism) at the Crone Gallery in Vienna. In this new series of works, he combines the visual language of Viennese Actionism with contemporary protest culture. Till's "Hand Grenades" are a nod to protest actions in which Christmas tree baubles filled with paint are used as thrown color bombs.
Milen Till verbindet in seinen Werken Objektkunst, Ready-Made-Art und Konzeptualismus. Er reinterpretiert Alltagsgegenstände oder ikonische Elemente berühmter Kunstschaffender, gibt ihnen neue Bedeutungen oder führt sie ad absurdum. Auf diese Weise schärft er unseren Blick für das Alltägliche und hinterfragt unsere Vorstellungen von Wert und Wesen der Kunst.
Die limitierte X-Mas-Edition entstand im Rahmen seiner Einzelausstellung „Wiener Aktivismus” in der Galerie Crone Wien. In dem neuen Werkkomplex verbindet er die visuelle Sprache des Wiener Aktionismus und aktueller Protestkultur. Tills „Handgranaten” sind ein augenzwinkernder Verweis auf Protestaktionen, bei denen mit Farbe gefüllte Christbaumkugeln als Wurfgeschoss verwendet werden.
