From each sale Euro 100,00 are donated to The Ocean Cleanup, a nonprofit organization has the aim to have removed 90 percent of floating plastic from the oceans by 2040.
Mike Meiré is an artist, designer, and curator. As art director of magazines such as brand eins, 032c, Kunstforum International, Arch+, and Neue Züricher Zeitung, he has had a significant influence on graphic design and visual perception. For several years, he has increasingly focused on his own artistic projects, which have been presented in solo and group exhibitions worldwide. For CRONE Edition, Meiré has created the Deep Sea Edition, which combines his typical minimalist aesthetic with a political claim: a blue plastic bag is slipped over an aluminum plate and stands out sculpturally from the wall. The clear form can be understood as a reference to the hermeticism of our thinking in relation to the pollution of the oceans by plastic waste. So, from each sale of a copy of the Deep Sea Edition, 100.00 euros will be given as a donation to The Ocean Cleanup, a nonprofit organization that clears all oceans worldwide of floating plastic so that it cannot decompose into toxic microplastic.

Für CRONE Edition hat Meiré die „Deep Sea Edition“ geschaffen, die sein typisches minimalistisches Ästhetikverständnis mit einem politischen Anspruch verbindet: Eine blaue Plastiktüte ist über eine Aluplatte gestülpt und hebt sich skulptural von der Wand ab. Die klare Form kann als Verweis auf die Hermetik unseres Denkens in Bezug auf die Verschmutzung der Meere durch Plastikmüll verstanden werden. Von jedem Verkauf eines Exemplars der Deep-Sea-Edition gehen daher Euro 100,00 als Spende an The Ocean Cleanup, eine Non-Profit-Organisation, die weltweit alle Ozeane von herumtreibendem Plastik befreit, damit es sich nicht zu giftigem Mikroplastik zersetzen kann.
